- Rated 3 out of 5by Merriska Carrier, 3 days agoNormally works very well, unfortunately even after the mid July patch it was still making watching Youtube incredibly sluggish and with pop ups so I've had to temporarily disable it.
Developer response
posted 2 days agoI'm sorry to hear that. We will look into this. In the meantime, you are right—you can turn off ad protection for YouTube and still be safe on other sites you visit.
If you can provide more details at support.malwarebytes.com, this would be helpful for debugging. - Rated 3 out of 5by SuperCuek, 16 days agoHagezi TIF better than this extension. Many Github links are incorrectly marked as malware. Useless continue button

posted 16 days agoSorry to hear you had a bad experience, if you can, it would be helpful to get those links that were causing issues so we can improve. Best place to reach us is at support.malwarebytes.com. - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 16351663, 23 days agoI'm running the latest version of FireFox. This has warned me about entering two or three potentially malicious sites, but I get multiple occurences daily of pages virtually freezing and a warning pop-up that the plugin is slowing FF down. I've therefore disabled it for now. When I next remember, I'll give it another try to see if the issue (if there is one) has been addressed.
Edit: VERY impressed by the speed of Malwarebytes' response! Have added a diary reminder to turn it back on in a week's time to see if the fix has been implemented. In the meantime, I'll try very hard not to visit sites I shouldn't. :-)Developer response
posted 23 days agoThank you for reporting, we have a fix for this pending for review by the Firefox team.
This should resolve the issue. - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 18201410, 23 days agoThis extensions been good for quite some time now, but recently, due to the bug that's been slowing down my browser, it's starting to get unbearable, I upload content on YouTube and browse the internet, and constantly getting a popup from my browser that its being slown down for long periods of time every 5 - 10 minutes is pretty annoying.
Until this bug's fixed, I do not recommend this extension to anyone, despite how good its features are.Developer response

Utterly Broken. causes Firefox to lag and slow down /freeze. Which it never did in the past.

- Rated 3 out of 5by Greenstack, 4 months agoI love the privacy and security options it gives, but any site that uses ReCaptcha fails to let me log in because the plugin disables and blocks it, so I need to disable the ads/trackers setting for those sites.
Developer response
posted 2 months agoIf possible, can you share the sites with broken recaptcha on it please?
(support.malwarebytes.com) - Rated 3 out of 5by Disaster Area, 4 months agoThis add-on is pretty good and helps prevent malware from being downloaded, as well as helps to avoid unsafe websites. However, today it started causing a massive memory leak whenever I opened my browser. My memory utilisation goes from about 40% with the add-on off to staying at 100% with the add-on active and websites will barely load. Hopefully this is fixed soon and I can re-enable the add-on.

posted 2 months agoThat's a bug we'd like more details on. Can you share more at support.malwarebytes.com, please? - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 9771322, 5 months agoРасширение интересное, но до конца не оптимизированное. Есть расширение получше. Возможно много памяти браузера занимает, мной не проверено, но потом как будет время, может, посмотрю.

The extension is interesting, but not fully optimized. There is a better extension. It probably takes up a lot of browser memory, I haven't checked it, but then I'll take a look at the time. - Rated 3 out of 5by josesito8, 5 months agoIt's a good extension for blocking trackers and security reasons, but it eats up too many resources and makes websites slower to load.

It will be addressed in the next version. - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 14836140, 7 months agoGreat for blocking cookies and pop-ups, but really slows down browsing experience. Even had to tur off multiple times, especeally at online shoppings and when I was trying to sign up to website like Incogni or Gumroad.
I hope Malwarebytes improves it soon.Developer response
posted 7 months agoThank you for the feedback, we have a brand new version coming soon. - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 18294556, 7 months agoIt works as far as I can tell and I appreciate the protection. What I can certainly do without is the large annoying pop up informing me every time this extension blocks something. It should work silently or at least have the option to disable notifications.

- Rated 3 out of 5by cadkitten, 10 months agoThis extension does not work with tumblr at all. At first it just denied me the ability to see the post screen when I went to make a post. Then it began to do the same thing to reblogs. At this point, it actively goes to a black screen after approximately 1-2 seconds of seeing any page. I turn this single extension off, presto, everything works again. Turn it back on, boom, all black screens again. Since I use tumblr all the time, this means I cannot use this extension (that I dearly want to use!). Please please fix it so I can use tumblr again. Thanks!

posted 10 months agoHi there,
This is due to a conflict with our Easylist protection, we will fix it on our side.
In the meantime, you can toggle Easylist on/off on Tumblr, by:
1. Navigating to Tumblr
2. Click on the Browser Guard icon in your browser's toolbar.
3. In the list of trackers blocked, you will see "Easylist".
4. Click on the "..." next to it.
5. Click "Allow on this website"

- Rated 3 out of 5by AMCarter3, 2 years agoI installed Malwarebytes Browser Guard on Firefox and Safari many months ago. It appears to work well in Firefox. However, in Safari the question is... how do I update it to the current version? There are 4 Browser Guard extensions added to Safari Settings. All 4 are ver 2.0.1, yet the App Store indicates the latest version released 10/25/23 is ver 2.1... and after opening it, it claims the new version is installed and active. However, it was NOT installed. The version in my Applications folder is still ver 2.0.1. This is very confusing.
