Après de longs essais entre ublock et adguard, force est de constater que ublock bloque les liens sponsorisés à cause des filtres esthétiques. Si on les désactive, les liens s'affichent mais on n'a plus aucun filtres esthétiques. Par contre dans adguard, les filtres esthétiques sont inclus dans le moteur et respectent les liens sponsorisés ce sui est parfait. Donc si vous souhaitez surfez sans pubs avec des accès normaux aux recherches et à votre banque, choisissez adguard mais surtout pas ublock.

Ads are not being blocked

Leaving uBlock Origin after using it exclusively since 2018 since finding out they support Z ideology. Everything good has an end, bye!

On May 4, 2025, Raymond Hill, the lead developer of uBlock Origin, removed Ukrainian filters from the regional section without any explanation. These filters were created by Ukrainians for Ukrainians, and were developed and optimized with attention to each individual website in the Ukrainian segment of the internet. They were highly effective in blocking ads, phishing, and other unwanted content on Ukrainian sites.

Instead, they were replaced by Russian filters (RU AdList and the so-called "Ukrainian" filters from the Russian company AdGuard). These are overloaded with blocking rules tailored for the Russian web (Runet) rather than the Ukrainian segment. I don't even understand why AdGuard labels them as "Ukrainian regional" when the only thing Ukrainian about them is the name, while the filters themselves are clearly made for the Russian region.

Moreover, these Russian filters are of very poor quality and ineffective at blocking ads, phishing, and other threats on Ukrainian websites. Literally, after the first attempt to use these filters, I started seeing ads for online casinos and other garbage right away.

To make things worse, these Russian filters contain politically motivated blocklists — they block absolutely all Ukrainian charity foundations individually.

As a Ukrainian user, I am outraged by the developer’s position.

Helping Russian warmongers not cool...

This extension is not safe for Ukrainians, because filters for Ukrainians are part "RU Adlist", managed by Russians.

я сьогодні дізналася що наш контент фільтрують за списком написаним руснею! абсолютно неприпустимо! (його можна вручну вимкнути в налаштуваннях, але чи можна тепер довіряти юблоку загалом?)

didn't remember even having this. been having problems with it blocking sites and i actually thought it was my VPN... tonight it blocked a site that i PAY FOR A SUBSCRIPTION to use. and have for YEARS and never had an issue with that site. not sure why this extension thinks it knows better than i do... i uninstalled it, logged back in to the site in question and it works fine and no bugs or other issues found according to three different scans. logged back in HERE to say STEER AWAY FROM THIS EXTENSION it tried to play god with your online experience. uninstalling immediately after leaving this review.

This was an absolutely amazing add on for years til Firefox apparently decided to disable this and Adblock Plus tonight in the middle of my online activity. It simply vanished from my taskbar and I got an error message saying "certain add-ons had been disabled". Turns out the only add-ons now missing are my two favorite crap blockers and all my web pages are now littered with garbage ads. uBlock PLEASE fix this somehow.

It's been largely ignoring custom filters for a few versions now, I finally just uninstalled bc it's unmaintained trash now.
