Youtube V3 Popout av Private Citizen

This extension adds a button on the youtube player that opens the video in a popup window. This is similar to Firefox's picture-in-picture feature except it opens the video in a standalone popup allowing you to close the originating full webpage.

This is useful for videos you want to leave running like music, podcast, or long form videos without taking up a whole webpage. You can move the popup around on your desktop or monitors and resize it.

This is designed using Firefox's newer (2025) extension framework. The popup window will have the URL bar visible and can't be hidden due to Firefox security policies.

PERMISSIONS

This extension only has permission to:

• Read and modify pages on Youtube.com

It will work without having permission to run in private windows. However, if you want it to work in "Incognito mode" it will need permission to run in private windows.
