A small caption gives the title and links to the corresponding Earth Observatory article.

The latest entry information is found with the RSS feed. The high-resolution image url is found by scraping the article page. This is saved to local storage to speed subsequent accesses as much as possible.

Uses EarthObservatory to obtain latest high-resolution image (RSS feed is faster than with VisibleEarth which makes it usable, and high-res image is easier to scrape from article)
The title links directly to the EarthObservatory article (instead of the VisibleEarth entry)
Use local storage to cache information on latest entry and hopefully speed up homepage loading
