Before hiding, press the button to hide contacts list.After hiding, press the button to show contacts list.Before collapsing, hover to view the button pointed by red arrow and then click the button to collapse. BUTTON WILL ONLY BE AVAILABLE ON HOVER.After collapsing, press the button to expand left panel. BUTTON WILL ONLY BE AVAILABLE ON HOVER.

I made this mostly for privacy reasons, because there is no built in option in Whatsapp Web to collapse the side panel containing contact list.

This extension is safe and does not read any private data. Project is open source so you can verify for yourself.
