Good to see WebExtensions allow stuff like this. The standard Subscribe button is a waste of space most of the time and using userChrome.css to hide it while disabled moves and/or resizes toolbar elements once an RSS feed becomes available.

Funny how the built-in button seems tacked on and this extension is so seamless.

Thanks. I cannot take credit for Awesome RSS seeming seamless though. I used the icon created by Mozilla and recreated the way Firefox used to handle subscriptions.
It's my hope that Firefox will have this as a page action by default again and that this extension will be completely useless.

    I thought this would be just what I wanted, a clean icon in the taskbar I could get a click and get a feed URI. dang I was wrong. this downloads a malformed XML document of what I was looking at :-\

    Kind of does what it needs to do. I would like it better if it copied the url of the RSS/Atom feed instead of tried to open or download it.

    Works in instances where regular Firefox wouldn't, it does get outshined by Firefox default a lot now, but when it counts it counts.

    This is abandonware. Last commit was in 2019.
    It does not work anymore for tt-rss, and despite someone even made a fix and a pull request, this is not merged.

    It does exactly what it promises with no issues whatsoever. I'm surprised that Firefox doesn't have this feature anymore, as RSS is what helps the open web thrive.

    Works fine in firefox 78. It does a naive search in the html for tags which point to feeds. Nothing more fancy than that.
