Recensioni per Orbit [Beta]: AI Assistant and Content Summarizer
Orbit [Beta]: AI Assistant and Content Summarizer di Firefox
Recensione di zeevb
This extension shows promise as a thoughtful approach to integrating AI capabilities into Firefox. Rather than building AI directly into the browser, Mozilla has opted to release it as an optional extension, giving users more control over their browsing experience.
The extension offers basic AI-powered features like webpage summarization and question-answering capabilities. However, there are some notable privacy considerations that could use improvement. Currently, the extension lacks granular privacy controls - users would benefit from the ability to whitelist or blacklist specific websites. Additionally, there's a lack of transparency around when exactly webpage contents are being sent to the AI service - whether it happens automatically when pages load or only when users explicitly request summaries or ask questions.

Summaries and conversations aren't as in-depth and incisive as frontier LLMs, but that's to be expected. Can't really complain too much about a completely free AI product with seemingly no usage cap. Hopefully future iterations will leverage more powerful models, allowing Orbit to truly hit its potential and become one of the best free AI tools out there. I'd definitely give it 5 stars then.

- Though it works, there are few things to be dealt with:
1. This isn't open source.
How can users just provide all their privacy content without knowing whether their data will be abused?
If it's open source add-on, at least somebody can audit its code.
2. Lack of customisation ability.
Users may have their own prompts to make Orbit speak in certain style they preferred, or summarise their emails in some structured format, but there isn't any option for us to do so.
3. Support more languages.
Well, if your statement is true, the instance you hold is Mistral 7B.
Then why Orbit only speaks few language (or only English)?
Mistral 7B is a multi-lingual model, so I guess you either etched some prompt into it or the model behind the closed-source interface isn't mistral 7B (that's why I want open source, otherwise we don't know what exactly happened there).
4. Font
The current font size and style are not reader-friendly at all. - Valutata 5 su 5di Elvin Aslanov, 2 mesi fa

We will continue to improve the responses.
In the meantime, if you haven't already tried, try the "paragraphs" option in "settings" for a more detailed response. - Excelente iniciativa!
Replica dello sviluppatore

- Don't let the cat out of the bag, but customized prompt is coming soon.
- After you select text, orbit is available in the "right-click" menu. (We removed the functionality where selecting text automatically pops up the tool due to negative feedback)
