    • Case LIB-527 - Fixed query string formatting for VuFind catalogs
      As an additional improvement to the 2024.204.1 release, some select VuFind catalogs have a stricter expectation for the query string used to search a combination of titles and authors. This change fixes the overall formatting to be compatible with more VuFind implementations.

    A few fixes to kick off 2025, including pulling in some fixes that were in the ManifestV3 version of the extension previously deployed for that other browser:

    LIB-490: Polaris catalogs were returning only a single item in some conditions
    LIB-491: Fixed the 'deselect' all on the configuration screen
    LIB-497: WebPacPro catalogs were failing searches due to Exceptions being thrown
    LIB-500: Autographs catalogs were failing searches
    LIB-509: Fixed book searches against SRU based catalogs (NLS BARD specifically), removing some 'masking' characters from the search term
    LIB-510: Fixed author matching issues impacting some Koha catalogs
    LIB-511: Fixed compatibility with Hoopla; some changes to the URLs used for search and authentication have been updated

    Bug Fixes:
    * Case LIB-439 - Unbound (formerly Axis360) availability listings reflect actual availability
    This catalog previously did not include availability details except when a user was logged in. Recent updates to the catalog now include the availability information so we can display it as well

    * Case LIB-457 - Updated support for Brooklyn Public Library
    This library system has a custom catalog that was updated. This update restores support for this catalog.

    * Fixed support for WebPacPro where some listings would not show up
    This catalog had a bug after recent updates to the code that prevented displaying results in some situations

    * Case LIB-460 - Fixed an incorrect label for Firefox users
    The 'Import' button on the configuration screen was incorrect labelled on Firefox

    * Case LIB-467 - Updated support for BorrowBox catalogs
    This digital books and audiobooks provider updated their catalog search results page. This update restores support for this catalog system.

    * The search results for the NLS Bard catalog were obtained using an older search endpoint. The endpoint was updated to use a secure, updated endpoint with improved results now observed.

    * Case LIB-440: Barnes and Noble 'collapse' button was missing
    On Barnes And Noble (bn.com), the collapse button was not visible due to a naming conflict. The names used to identify this element were updated and the button is functional again.

    Some libraries, such as New York Public Library, include non-owned resources (with no availability) for some titles. This fixes a bug that would cause no results to show up for these titles.

    Users identified additional page layouts that were not being properly handled

    - Removed support for BookDepository.com
    BookDepository.com will be deactivated as of April 26, 2023 by the current owners, Amazon.com. Support for this site is being removed as it will no longer be accessible.

    ** Bugs Fixed **
    - Fix for some title identification on Sirsi Dynix catalogs
    Some Sirisi Dynix catalogs included publish years which were being incorrectly included as part of the result titles. This has been fixed to only include the relevant portions of the titles

    * Users can enable Libby (instead of Overdrive) for their libraries
    A new setting under the 'General Settings' has been added (near the bottom of the list) that allows users to enable Libby instead of Overdrive for all eligible digital catalog. Libby is the replacement application for libraries that offer this service. This Beta switch will eventually be enabled for all users, but users eager to start early can now enable or disable this feature at will.

    * Case LIB-378 Implemented a work around for catalogs running Koha that were unable to complete their search.
    An update to the Koha ILS software in December 2022 introduced a bug in the RSS rendering. This caused the Library Extension to be unable to search these catalogs. A workaround was implemented to attempt to detect this version and use normal search results. Additional details can be found at our Koha bug status page

    * Case LIB-390 Restored functionality with audiobooks.com after site layout changes.

    * Case LIB-392 Fixed title parsing if an exclamation mark was part of the title.

    - Overdrive catalogs now extract 'language', as part of improving match results.

    Recent observations were made that showed non-English results being returned when the Overdrive (and other catalogs) retain an English title. This information is currently visible in the details (clicking the (i) on the results).

    Some UI work was done to improve the interactivity on the results details dialog (clicking the (i) on the results)

    - Case LIB-381 - Fixed a results not being displayed for Biblionix, Autographics catalogs.

    A bug was introduced in the 2023.105.1 release which caused Bibilionx and Autographics catalogs to enter the 'endless spinner' state. This bug was due to changes in some method signatures, and these catalogs implementing overrides that were not properly updated. This bug has been fixed.

    Improvements:

    * Case LIB-376: SirsiDynix Enterprise catalog implementations that use a CSRF value in a header (Far North Libraries in New Zealand, for example) were not able to return results.
    This implementation detail is now supported in the Library Extension.

    * The Library Extension has been updated to support pulling supported geographic regions from a service.
    The names and regions supported were previously part of the published source code. This had made it challenging to add support for new geographic regions quickly. The Extension now obtains the list of supported countries and regions from a managed service, making it easier to support new locations quickly..

    Bugs Fixed:
    * Fixed a bug impacting Hoopla results missing an 'artist'.
    Some Hoopla records are missing an 'artist' field, and this was causing results to not display properly. The Extension now handles these records properly.

    * Case LIB-375: Kobo.com removed the structured JSON records from their pages, leading to the Extension being unable to identify items.
    Kobo.com removed information about the item displayed in a structured JSON format; the Extension has been updated to find the item details on the page via other means.

    Improvements

    * Exclude unnecessary 'state' and 'country' information for special catalogs on the configuration screen.
    This change removes the state and country for catalogs where this information is not meaningful.

    Bugs Fixed

    * LIB-302: Fix the configuration restore feature for Firefox.
    This bug impacted only Firefox users trying to restore (or copy) their configuration to a machine. Firefox does not support the use of a file picker, so users can now copy and paste their saved configuration into a textbox.
    * LIB-360: Fix a bug causing audiobook results without a preview to fail to be included for BorrowBox.
    This bug impacted only a small set of results, namely audiobooks that did not have an audio preview. The observed behavior was no result or an endless 'search'.
    * LIB-364: Fix a bug non-available items in OpenLibrary results to be included.
    This bug impacted OpenLibrary results by including items which are 'Not In Library'. These results are not generally of interest in the use of the Library Extension and they will no longer show up.
