Torii currently doesn't support custom api keys. But I'll think about it :)

- Classificate 5 de 5per Uso, hace 3 horasBy far, this is the best manga translator I’ve used, it surpasses all the others I’ve tried so far though it has its own flaws but is normal for all manga translators to have.

- Classificate 5 de 5per SysGabriel, hace 7 díasThis works! I'm having a good time reading manga online without having to wait for scans to translate them. I wish the best for this team and it's extension. Great work guys.
- Classificate 5 de 5per Parsa, hace 8 días
- Classificate 5 de 5per Mike, hace 8 díasUnbelievably convenient translation addon, all of you guys should try it.
- Classificate 3 de 5per Degen, hace 9 díasThe addon itself is excellent but lacks the ability to use local models or even our own API keys. I personally use a deepseek api provider so having to pay even more to use it here despite that is not a great feeling. Other than that, the inpainting and everything else is great, it really looks like its manually translated sometimes.
- Classificate 5 de 5per IceNex7271, hace 11 díasHey another review guy here! but Seriously, before Torii Image Translator, getting through untranslated manga was such a chore. I used to do it all by hand with Tesseract OCR or other OCR services, and then I’d copy and paste it (obviusly also need to spend a bit of time correcting the formats of text order etc) into DeepL or google translate it took forever to clean it all up and get the formatting right. Each chapter was like, two or three hours of work, maybe more. Its really a total time sink. Now, though? I just drop the image files in and it does all the work for me. The translations are pretty cool too ,and it only takes a minute! It’s a total game changer. I really like how easy it is to use, and the translation quality is pretty nice too (honestly its very servicable and i didn't even use the top models since they use more credits deepseek is goat here for price/performance). I already picked up the 2000 (edit because i misremembered its not 2000 its 2500 credits instead!) credits for like 6 bucks, and it’s honestly good for its price. If you like untranslated comics or manhwa, or really anything with text in an image, you can use this!

publicate hace 14 díasIt can't be free and your 1-star rating makes no sense. You're saying the product is good but rating it poorly because you can't afford it ... Imagine you said the same thing about a iPhone, "wow this phone is so good but wait, actually it sucks because it costs money ..."
you people are so weird, it baffles me. Just think for a single moment, how can it be possible for this extension to be free? I need to pay for server costs, for GPT4 translation costs, for GPU costs, for storage costs, for text detection costs and for my own time and energy spent working on this damn thing. What part of that allows for the extension to be free? Who will pay for all of the expenses? This extension will not exists and I will be broke. God I wish you random people were more reasonable because I hate seeing such reviews.- Classificate 1 de 5per Usator de Firefox 19136463, hace 15 díasCompletely ignored the main text of the image. Completely useless.

publicate hace 15 díasSometimes mistakes happen either in the text detection phase or in the translation phase, but Torii should handle 95% of images very well. Instead of writing a "completely useless" review such as yours, you could have contacted me either via email or discord and I would have carefully addressed your issue and maybe even fix the bug. Might have even given you some free credits as compensation. Responsa de disveloppator
publicate hace 15 díasYeah, this service cannot be free. It's not possible and it has to be sustained by the users. Translation and text detection and servers cost me money to run, so after a free trial you have to pay if you like it and want to keep using it.- Classificate 1 de 5per Usator de Firefox 17672697, hace un mesNot free user friendly in the *slightest*, first impressions were abysmal and not worth cash either.

publicate hace un mesIt's not free yes, but your review is abysmal as well. You could have given the slightest bit of constructive criticism. What went wrong? Why didn't you like the extension? How can the experience be improved? Are you just mad it's not free? If that's the case, then some things simply can't be free - I have expenses to take care of. I rate your review 1 star. - Classificate 5 de 5per Furkan, hace 2 mesesI'm writing this review after postponing it for a few months. I like the translations it offers. It's cheaper than others and provides usage proportional to what you pay. I bought a few golf balls and am using them. Even though free usage is limited, the prices are cheaper compared to a few others I've used, and it offers a wide range of languages. My only concern is privacy. Even if the developer says they don't store data, we can't be sure and have to trust them.
Wake up wake up wake up! - Classificate 5 de 5per PlanB, hace 3 mesesIt works super well. I used to use Ichigo on Chrome before moving over to Firefox, but this one beats it in every single regard. Even the pricing is beyond reasonable.

Please join the discord server if you'd like to chat - maybe you have a cool suggestion or feature request you'd like to see implemented in Torii, and I can hear you out :) - Classificate 4 de 5per John Kirk, hace 3 mesesWorks wonderfully. However it's too expensive, and without localized pricing it becomes harder for non-Americans. The inpainting/rendering must be the most computationally intensive part. Why not just create text overlays using HTML & CSS tools instead? Just instead text boxes at the coordinates of the text and set its backdrop-filter to blur. At least consider that for a cheaper tier.

publicate hace 3 mesesThanks for the 4 stars! Localized pricing is impossible for the simple reason that my own expenses are not localized. Everything is in dollars, such as GPT4 or Gemini, or server prices, or storage, or hosting. If I were to localize I would be losing a ton of revenue and Torii would die, since that's not sustainable. As for your other point, the inpainting and rendering are by far not the most intensive or costly parts. The character detection via OCR AI models is the most costly, followed by translation via the services of GPT4 or Gemini. Therefor it cannot possibly be made any cheaper than it already is, until I find just as good but cheap replacement models for those services. That should happen in the not too distant future, as AI improves globally, but as of right now, the current pricing is as low as it can go.
Thanks anyway, for the review, I really appreciate it. Especially since I've usually received 1-star reviews of this kind, such as "This sucks, it's not free, 1 star" lol - Classificate 5 de 5per panos, hace 3 mesesSo the firefox extension works very well on a couple of manga websites I tested.
The choice of LLMs has increased and the brand new 2.5 flash has been added!
For manga reading the 2.0 is more than enough but I think that adding the image context option helps a lot.
For those who leave low star reviews because it's paid, please take into account that nothing in this life is free. This extension, apart from coding the extension itself, requires a service that runs in the background, and API calls to the LLM providers. All of these cost money, and you have to have the actual skills to do it. Most of the "low star because it's paid" reviewers have absolutely no idea how stuff work, could never do it on their own, and still expect it to be free.
Please appreciate the effort that has gotten into this, the ongoing running costs, the ease of use that it provides, which would be unimaginable a few years ago and the really really low amount of money it requires from the end user.
Google lens might be "free", but even if we don't consider the inconvenience, it feeds on your data, so it's not really free. Nothing in life is free. Perhaps the air we breathe, but I have doubts.
Great work stringie! I'd give 6 stars if I could.Responsa de disveloppator
publicate hace 3 mesesI really appreciate your kind review panos. Means a lot to me to hear something nice, haha. For a moment, there was a streak of bad reviews and I got worried. I don't know why people aren't more reasonable with their expectations. I guess everyone is annoyed that everything in their life wants their money, which I understand. Still, it's very disheartening to hear bad reviews after putting a whole year's worth of effort into improving Torii. Nonetheless, I'll keep improving Torii to make it the best on the internet and hopefully there will be people like yourself who appreciate it. - Classificate 5 de 5per Lnwmala, hace 3 mesesI can confidently say that this is the best extension for translating text in images, and it is very accurate.
- Classificate 5 de 5per Usator de Firefox 18956531, hace 3 mesesPeople who are writing poor reviews for something that requires payment for use are being quite inconsiderate of the developer. There are alternative addons that allow you to translate locally that are free... but this one provides translations using another method. This requires no knowledge of Python, hosting servers, or anything of the sort.
The translations are (usually) pretty good. The text is as impressive as a typical Google translate result... but what I'm more impressed about is it's ability to overlay the foreign text with the translated text. If you can afford 5 bucks for a good amount of translations... then I say it's worth the money.Responsa de disveloppator
publicate hace 3 mesesHey, thanks a lot for coming to my defense :)
I don't really understand those people expecting everything in this world to either be free or unusable. The good things in life more often than not provide some value which doesn't come for free. People's labor needs to be rewarded for providing you with that value. High quality products cost money and should be fairly priced.
Also, I would say that Torii's translations are 10x better than the typical google translate result, haha. The reason is that Google's models are inferior to the modern capabilities of LLMs like GPT4 and Gemini, which is what Torii uses. Responsa de disveloppator
publicate hace 3 mesesTorii offers a free trial to test things. It says right on the install page that some features are paid. Why would you leave a bad review just because it's paid? I can't pay for your usage, that is ridiculous. GPT-4 costs money, servers cost money, Gemini costs money, OCR costs money ... who is gonna pay for all those expenses? For Torii to sustain itself, it has to be a paid extension. That doesn't make Torii worth 1-star reviews. You should rate the product and provide constructive criticism that matters so I can improve the extension. Do you rate Netflix 1-star because it's a paid subscription? No, businesses have to sustain themselves, otherwise they die and no one can use them. Please remove your review.- Classificate 3 de 5per obbnom, hace 3 mesesWorks well but I might rather just suffer with google lenses then pay for machine translation.
It is nice that they charge per token rather than th bs subscription model - Classificate 1 de 5per ArnoldaZ, hace 3 meses
