AudD extension:
- Recognizes the music playing in your browser;
- Finds music in the AudD database with more than 80 million songs using its music recognition technology;
- Shows lyrics for identified songs;
- Shows links to listen to the songs on Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer, YouTube Music;
- Displays the exact moment in the recognized song when the sound from the browser is played.

The add-on's settings are a bit unclear, so we want to clarify: This extension does not require signing up. It can be used without an API token, completely for free. Please do not sign up for an API token unless you want to use our music recognition API (application programming interface). We ask you don’t sign up for an account just to use the extension; you can use the extension without an API account or token. (Sign-ups create a burden on our side, as we’re paying an authentication provider depending on the number of users.)

There’s a bug that prevents the extension from finding audio sources on some pages (it can’t find the audio or video stream and fails to record the audio). We’re working on understanding the cause and will try to fix it. Please send us these pages via GitHub issues. On Reddit, you can mention u/auddbot to identify the song.

There's also a known bug related to the extension auth. We couldn't reproduce it but tried to fix the potential underlying cause in a new version. If you see something like "Recognition failed: authorization failed: wrong api_token", this is not supposed to happen, it's not the kind of error that should be shown by the extension and we think something goes wrong in the API request that the extension makes. If you experience it on the latest version of our extension, please send your OS and Firefox version to firefox@audd.io.
