It also made it easy to add an icon for each search engine. The export function also works well. Unfortunately, the import function did not work for me, which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

Search Engines Helper doesnt find favicon nor lets me add a search engineRespuesta del desarrollador
publicado el hace 6 añosAre you using a Beta/Nighlty or non stable version of Firefox by any chance ? Everything is working well for me with Firefox 66.0.3 64-bit on windows - Se valoró con 5 de 5por Usuario de Firefox 14307885, hace 6 años

It generates a favicon automatically, and can backup into a json file.
Very impressive. - Se valoró con 5 de 5por Usuario de Firefox 11487604, hace 7 añosI really like this addon! Just the one I need.

Uploading and then downloading the engine data doesn't look like the most elegant solution, but if this is really the only thing you can do now, what you gonna do ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I'd consider checking whether the downloaded file is the same as the one you uploaded though, just to be sure that you are getting back the same thing and the file host is possibly not trying to do anything funny. - Se valoró con 5 de 5por Steve, hace 7 añosIf you get an error message trying to add a search engine, verify that your employer is not filtering web access. :)
This add-on works great! - Se valoró con 5 de 5por Miskude, hace 7 añosI love it, this is exactly the kind of add-on that I was searching for. This should be a default option in Firefox since it's really limited in the search engine department.

But after adding a search engine, it can be used only in the search bar?
It is not visible in the context menu. The thing is, I do not like the search bar, most of my searches are through selecting text then via right-clicking.
Will you implement this?Respuesta del desarrollador
publicado el hace 7 añosHello,
The search engines can be used in the search bar and below address bar as well.
I recommend the following extension for selected text search: https://cup.aihedy.com/en-US/firefox/addon/swift-selection-search/ - Se valoró con 5 de 5por Laio, hace 7 añosNão conseguia adicionar um mecanismo de busca customizado. Foi tiro e queda.

just hope maybe the developer shall update so that it can detect the URL of the query field automaticallyRespuesta del desarrollador
publicado el hace 7 añosHello, thanks for the review.
As for your request, it's practically impossible to know which part of the URL constitutes the query field:
- it can be a query parameter like https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=%s
- it can also be a path parameter like http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/%s
I may add in the future a more automated way to add a search engine.
