About this extension
This is a simple extension that:
Drawbacksː
- Removes the cookie headers for all
https://*.youtube.com/watch?*
links (requireswebRequest
andwebRequestBlocking
perms) - Cancels all
https://*.youtube.com/watch?*themeRefresh=1*
requests (to prevent a bunch of refreshes when removing cookies) - Refreshes page (requires
tabs
perm) on client-side redirect to a video (requireswebNavigation
perm) to mimic disabling theHistory.pushState
API - Checks if your browser prefers dark mode and enables it for video pages and, if so, enables it (since disabling cookies disables it for some reason)
Drawbacksː
- When the client-side redirect happens, you are still initially logged in and a request is sent to YouTube that you accessed the video.
- It signs you out, so you cannot watch age-restricted videos
- It signs you out, so you cannot like, subscribe, or comment
