Firefox Multi-Account Containers by Firefox

by Firefox user 16062270, 5 years agoThe Multi-Account Containers extension for Firefox is a useful addition. I typically have a couple dozen tabs open at any given time, which clutters up the tab bar and makes it difficult to find a given tab. Categorizing the tabs into containers fixes this problem, with the ability to hide and show containers of tabs.
I didn't give a five-star rating to the Multi-Account Containers extension because there are some (in my opinion) missing features and functionality which I won't go into here, but one disappointment is that containers and their tabs are not saved to the 'cloud'. When I had my tabs and containers set up how I wanted them, I switched to an OS on another partition where I had Firefox installed. When I logged into Firefox, I was expecting my tabs and containers to sync with what I had set up in the other instance of Firefox and show up in this instance. They did not.

posted 5 years agoIf your browser is set to sync add-ons and open tabs, a new Firefox install should bring over all of your add-ons, all of your containers, and all of your open tabs. If that's not working, you could file a bug here: https://github.com/mozilla/multi-account-containers/issues/new

- can we pls. make it so that i can set a bookmark for amazon to open in one container, then make a bookmark to amazon and specify to open in another? why can we not say directly in the bookmark which container to use (without confirmations and delays) - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 19079829, 10 hours agoFrankly, it's the most useful extension I've ever used. Thanks to all the team behind this beautiful project for the quality of their work.

This limits the usefulness of this extension considerably, as almost every site redirects from one domain to another, especially for authentication. Please allow me to arbitrarily add domains to the list. It would also be nice if I could have an "add all domains accessed in this tab session to the list for this container" option, to capture any domains redirected to automatically, but manual addition would at least be sufficient.
Pro-tip for anyone else bothered by this: in about:config, set network.http.redirection-limit to 0, and it will stop all redirection temporarily to allow you to add arbirary redirecting domains to this extension. Be sure to set it back to 20 or whatever afterwards.
-0.5 Stars: Can't skip the tutorial when installing the extension. I understand the desire for the intro if you're new, but its clear that the lack of a skip is so that extra products can be cross-sold. Please add a skip option for this. - Rated 5 out of 5by Jose Angel Piqueras, 11 days ago

- Rated 4 out of 5by FF user 0, 17 days agoIt works well for nearly 3 years. I am using portable firefox with multi-ac containers for nears 3 years, I have 10 containers, those of them have different user agent, but suddently, since yesterday, all containers share the same user agent and cannot set different user agents for each container alternately.
