- Rated 1 out of 5by Vlad, 3 years agoDuckduckGo's popularity is largely due to the reputation of the search engine, caring for the confidentiality of its users and free from any censorship. Nevertheless, DuckduckGo deleted several large pirate sites from search results, among them The Pirate Bay, 1337x, Fmovies, Nyaa.see and LookMovie.io. Before that, you stated that you would delete from the issuance of "propaganda". I think that you yourself violate your rules and in particular Firefox policies about the free Internet.
P.S. I delete this expansion and will discourage them to enjoy your acquaintances.Developer response
posted 3 years agoThere are a number of stories circulating alleging we are purging independent media outlets and other content from our search results. These stories and the accusations are not true. If you can't find something on DuckDuckGo, please let us know what it is specifically and we'll investigate. - Rated 1 out of 5by Venupin, 3 years agowanted to search for youtube-mp3 downloader, couldn't find it, found a vid talking about ddg's censoring and it all clicked together

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 16397164, 3 years agoWas a pretty decent search engine until they wanted to be Google's little brother and decided to censor searches. Stop treating people like morons. Just give us the unfiltered searches and let us deiced what we want and don't want to see.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Maden, 3 years agoDuckDuckGo is extremely useful and in my opinion essential when surfing the Web nowadays. I have been using Browser, Extension and Mobile App for the last Year now and it has made me feel safer and more secure when searching for things. Especially useful is the "burn" function for mobile devices, where you can delete all browser data with just one touch. I recommend this browser to anyone that wants to have a normal web experience while still being anonymous for any reason.

- Rated 4 out of 5by matchosan, 3 years agoIt works well, but when using it from the address bar it creates a duplicate results tab. How can I change that to only one. Thanks.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 17357305, 3 years agoIt started joining the rest of the group with censoring. Instead of being an unbiased search engine.

Lol.
This isn't even the Search Engine. It's a Tracker Blocker built by the DDG team. This extension itself censors NOTHING, and the search engine itself is only "censoring" insofar that it dropped Yandex (Russian Search Engine) from it's regex filter.
"Google Clone"? Lol. Google tracks everything you search and personalizes search results to monetize you and put you in Filter Bubbles. That's DDG's real strength. It doesn't track users, it doesn't filter users, it only monetizes users through Contextual Advertising, and all of this is and was true before and after the Yandex debacle.
It's laughable how ignorant and stupid people who use FIREFOX of all browsers truly are. It's no surprise that Mozilla has been desperately trying to dumb down the browser if users can't even tell the difference between a search engine and a extension.
I don't even use this extension for Tracker blocking. I've been using uBlock ever since the Firefox Android update that blocks free use of extensions (cEnSoRsHiP!?!?!?!). Even so, I still use the search engine, and both the engine and this extension are still excellent ways to preserve privacy.
If ya'll still wanna get pandered by Brave/Yandex/Google, be my guest. I've been using DDG since 2019, and frankly I have no reason to switch. - Rated 1 out of 5by MS130, 3 years agoDropped this search engine when it began censoring what would be shown on searches. Shame on you DDG.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Slope Wallet (chrome port), 3 years agoUsed to be my go to browser, fast and best for privacy. Went down the hole when it announced that it was censoring searches... removed the extension and changed my search engine. Really went downhill.
