- Rated 1 out of 5by rob, 5 years agoIt's been an extremely frustrating first two days with 1Password in general and much of the issue is these browser extensions. Unable to figure out how to change my original (weak) passwords using 1Password on my phone I figured I do it on my laptop. But neither Chrome nor FIrefox extensions work...well, worked once or twice but not the last, oh, 15 or so times I've tried. And I've tried changing passwords on a variety of sites, uninstalled/reinstalled the addons a few times, rebooted, etc. Not sure I'll be a 1Password customer by the end of the trial period...

- Rated 1 out of 5by sed, 5 years agoTerrible experience. When I try to make 1Password to suggest a password in a password field, Firefox becomes unusable. Not just the current tab but any tab. 1Password doesn't respond at all and I have to disable and enable 1Password so that I can at least use Firefox again.

But excluding 1Password 6 customers from being able to use the new extensions is a true disappointment. Heavily investing in the Family iOS and desktop versions in 2013, it's understandable that ongoing development cannot be funded exclusively by new customers, but eliminating the previous extension version without giving users the opportunity to pay for it... again a disappointment. It is likely I'll upgrade to 7, but the change to having my data reside on their servers is of concern - having been president of a technology company I will share that (in general) having the data stored (even in an encrypted format) does hold much higher risk than encryption options used with 6 and earlier. The only online storage we've identified as the safest is pCloud (I'm not a former employee). I'll be checking out specs shortly.

posted 5 years agoHey MusicMan,
I think you might have missed some very important points of information here that will make you very happy:
- This extension does not work with the 1Password desktop app and does not access local vaults on your computer, but instead it reads and writes data to our cloud service where our users vaults are stored securely. This extension works completely differently than the good old companion extension that you are used to, but that is not to push on or force users to move to our membership service at all.
- You can still download and install the companion extension which will still work with your 1Password 6 and Firefox, no membership required. You can find it here: https://1password.com/browsers/
If you do decide to join our membership service, you do not have to store your data on our servers. You most definitely can keep working with local vaults, but then again - you won’t be able to work with 1Password X.
- We still sell standalone licenses for 1Password 7, for customers who don’t want or need the membership service and its bundle of features and benefits, though I highly recommend you sign up for the 30 days free trial and check it out for yourself before making a decision.
Feel free to email us at support@1password.com for more info. - Rated 1 out of 5by Andre, 6 years agoIf you have once made an attempt to register with 1password which failed, it is very difficult to register again.

Please email us at support+extensions@1password.com. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 15368276, 6 years agoThis extension is extremely slow and laggy. I need to wait for 1-2 seconds between password selection and password insertion. This happens on every site.

posted 5 years agoHey there,
If you have Firefox set up to never remember history and to always use private browsing, that might cause this behavior. Please disable one of these features and test again.
If that didn’t help, please email us at support+extensions@1password.com with all the details. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 15345776, 6 years agouseful but awful. i would switch in a heartbeat if there was a reasonable alternative.

Developer response
posted 5 years agoHey there,
If the default shortcut of CMD+Period does not work for you, you can change the default shortcut in 1Password X’s settings page. Please try changing it to a different combination until you find one that works for you.
If you’re still having troubles, please email us at support+extensions@1password.com and we’ll be happy to help you further. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 15305461, 6 years agoI can't use this plugin normally, it will prompt TypeError: uY is null. So I gave him a star rating.

posted 6 years agoHi there – 1Password X is a full-featured application baked into an extension. That means that when you fully quit the browser, you’re also quitting 1Password X. If you find yourself quitting the browser often, we also offer a desktop-dependent 1Password extension which you can find on our downloads page. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 15265230, 6 years agoThe plugin does not work. It shows "No Items to show" for all websites, even if I DO have credentials for that website stored in 1password

- Rated 1 out of 5by ff_user, 6 years agoI really tried to like this extension but it is very clunky and doesn't really integrate well with the main product, also the fact that you need to visit a website to add/edit passwords is very not practical. This was the push that i needed to stop using 1Password altogether and move to another solution. I believe that, in 2019, they can't justify the price of their subscription anymore but what do i know. Hope this review helps.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 15143144, 6 years agoI love 1Password, but I'm sticking with the Desktop App extension. This one is too cumbersome to use (it requires a new browser window be opened if you want to edit any passwords/whatever) and I encountered a bug as soon as I installed--I can't copy any text from the 1Password Extension (there is literally no data in the Windows clipboard) and I had to go to the edit window-whatever to copy straight from the boxes where you edit text. The desktop extension works, so I'm using that.

posted 6 years agoI’m so happy to hear you love 1Password — I do too. :) Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. 1Password X fits my workflow best, but I understand that’s not the case for everyone.
With that said, I’m happy to let you know the `copying` bug you encountered has been fixed, and we’ve since made a lot more awesome changes to the way 1Password X works.
Several months ago we released a new feature on macOS to be tested in the 1Password X beta for Chrome; It’s called Desktop App Integration. Desktop App Integration allows 1Password X to connect with the 1Password desktop app, leveraging it for its locking and unlocking capabilities, item editing features and more. This means while using Desktop App Integration, clicking the “Edit” button in 1Password X results in a 1Password Mini modal(popup) opening up with full item editing capabilities (instead of having to edit on 1Password.com in a new web page). The team just released Desktop App Integration for Firefox and is working hard to tune it up for use in Windows and the stable 1Password X builds. If this is something you’re interested in learning more about it, the following 1Password Forum post by my buddy Mitch explains how it works - [1Password Discussion Forum : Desktop App Integration]https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/101231/introducing-desktop-app-integration-for-mac/p1). Let us know if you decide to give 1Password X another shot sometime. :) - Rated 1 out of 5by linda pearce, 6 years agoI WAS UNABLE TO USE 1PASSWORD ON MY APPLE. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 15077213, 6 years agoSince I -have to- use this add-on in the account-integrated version I am not happy with 1password anymore. The integration is far from smooth. Every time I have te enter my masterkeyword in the pop-up window is flips away, and when I have to edit an entry I have to login on my account. This is A BIG LOSS of functionality, guys!
(I even use Safari (that works with the old smooth version) to avoid this annoying workaround in Firefox)Developer response
