by Naresh, 8 years agoThis extension is a complete lifesaver! Thanks a lot for all the effort you have put into this.
However, I have temporarily reduced a star in the rating because I noticed that your latest update requires permission to 'Download files and read & modify my download history' and I wasn't completely sure why that was needed. Can you please shed some light on this?
EDIT: Thanks a lot for the quick reply! That commit explains the changed permissions.

posted 8 years agoHappy to explain. Access to the download manager was needed for the export options function (implemented in v0.4). Given the constraints of WebExtensions, the easiest way to deliver a file to the user is via downloads. You can confirm from the source code (available on GitHub) that this is the only use of the download manager.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 19003166, 21 days agoExcellent at blocking things that I didn't want to have access to. YouTube shorts, NSFW that I selected, only flaw is that it's easily disableable via the extensions manager. But that's something that's impossible to implement. The only thing you need is willpower, this is just a starter to it.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Vlance, a month agoI have been using this add - on for about 3 years or so. It has done wonders for me!. While I used it to block explicit sites and one needs to have self control to actually resist the urge to reset the add on.
Great for parents, allows them to control the media exposure early on if using a PC, 'Message from self' Feature is really good. I wrote bible verses for myslef to remind that I need to be holy and all my actions on the internet reflects my integrity to that commitment. - Rated 5 out of 5by Abhishek, a month ago
