- Rated 5 out of 5by John, 2 years agoAfter hunting for an extension that allows you to use a custom url as a new tab this is IT!
All the other extensions don't clear the url bar when making a new tab. So when you start typing the characters are appended to the url bar contents, meaning you need to manually clear the url bar each time.
This one fixes that! I've struggled with it for a month now, and finally found this extension. Thanks MethodGrab! - Rated 3 out of 5by Vindikato, 2 years ago

- Rated 5 out of 5by gordo, 2 years agoDoes what it says on the tin, and I really appreciate that it does so while maintaining focus on the address bar.

- Rated 5 out of 5by David Wynn, 2 years agoThis is a great add on for displaying a simple, custom new tab page.
Especially if your page doesn't have links and just displays some JS enabled info, it's a great way to not pollute the address bar as you do so.
Works great for my simple use case! - Rated 5 out of 5by VeeIn3D, 3 years ago

Should be in the description that search engines like google doesn't work since its probably the most popular custom url. - Rated 3 out of 5by Elliott Slaughter, 4 years agoThis extension doesn't work for file:// URLs. I'd prefer not to host my new tab page publicly, just so I can load it on my own computer. Otherwise seems to work fine (assuming the target page is accessible via http or https).

- Rated 4 out of 5by Ali S. Fakename, 4 years agoIt kind of works... but it doesn't do what I want. I don't think it's something the creator can fix.
I have the same problem that a user SouthOkanagan reported in 2018, it won't allow URLs like https://www.google.com to be set at the new tab page.
The developer asked "Why would you want to do that ? You can search in the toolbar".
The reason I want to do this is because I **HATE** searching in the address bar at the top of the screen.
I want to have https://www.google.com appear whenever I open a new tab or window. I want the search to be focused in the centre of the screen, where my eyes are looking, not at the top of the screen.
It's crazy that Firefox doesn't have this as an option for new tabs anyway.
This add in is a great idea, but I can't use it for what I want... but that's:
a) Google's fault for not allowing embedding (though I can see why they do that to avoid some kind of "skinning" with keylogging or something
b) Even more so, it's firefox's fault for not having an option in the first place to set a custom URL for new tabs... sigh. - Rated 4 out of 5by webUser, 5 years agoне поняла как это работает, но отзывы неплохие, 4 звезды за труды!!
