Depopulate reviews a websites images (both on load and after) to determine if they contain skin tones. Skin tone calculations are based on the RGB color space and derived from academic papers. Some darker skin tones and non-color (black and white) images will not be filtered. Filtering on any page can be reversed by simply holding the mouse over the image for one second.

Certain websites can be excluded from Depopulation in the settings and detection parameters can be tweaked in the options panel. Blurring can be locked and blur pixel dimensions adjusted. Special detection and processing methods have been created for certain complex web applications (i.e. Twitter, YouTube).
